Tea Biscuits_

Ingredients :

  1. 1 cup scalded milk
  2. 1 tablespoon sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons shortening
  4. ½ teaspoon salt
  5. 1 yeast cake dissolved in½ cup water
  6. 4 cups flour
Instructions :

  • Put the sugar, salt, and shortening in a mixing bowl and add scalded milk.
  • When lukewarm, add dissolved yeast cake.
  • Slowly add 3 cups of flour, beating to a light batter and let rise to double the bulk.
  • Add 1 cup of flour, rise again, shape on molding board, brush with melted butter.
  • Cover and rise until light.
  • Shape into rounds and bake at 425 degrees from twenty to twenty-five minutes.

Rose Petal Tea_

Ingredients :

  1. 2 cups of fresh rose petals
  2. 3 cups water
Instructions :

  • In a small saucepan, heat water and rose petals to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. The petals will start to darken.
  • Strain out the petals and serve while hot. Add honey for some extra sweetness.
